Blackshaw Descendants
When, in 1849, my 4xgreat-grandfather, Edward BLACKSHAW, took his family out from Lincolnshire to start a new life in America,
he left behind his married daughter, Sarah Ann. She had married Henry BRUCE in 1843 and the family settled in Wigtoft, Lincolnshire.
The following photographs show some of her descendants. As you can, see some of the photographs have been
poorly treated and are rather fragile. Click on the thumbnails below to see them clearly - they may take a little while to load!
If you think you may have a connection with the family, do let me know! Sheila.
The first row shows some of Sarah's daughters
Rebecca Bruce married in 1877 to John Thomas MARSH. They had three children but Rebecca died of typhoid
in 1894 when the youngest daughter, Ellen, was only six months old. The following year, John Marsh married Rebecca's youngest sister, Hannah,
and she raised the three children as if they were her own.
This row shows Rebecca's children
